HAS had a full and varied year.
From the practical rewards of a working bee, led by David MacLeod, our rooms were cleaned and painted. Equipment was repaired and expanded. The space was ready for big things later in the year.
The Studio Program, including tutored and untutored classes, has continued and strengthened in 2023, particularly highlighting the popularity of untutored life drawing sessions. The program was extended into a new area, with the establishment of a printmaking course in term four.
The passing of Nathan Paramanathan, a significant figure within the Society, is noted with sadness, acknowledging his contributions as an artist, teacher, and committee member.
Lastly, the successful Spring Salon Exhibition in September 2023 was a highlight, showcasing the talents of the Society's members, and the joy of supporting each others artistic endeavors.
