Exploring your inner artist - studio term course
Picasso said: “Every child is an artist. The challenge is to remain an artist once we grow up”.
This course is not about getting it right, but rather about finding your own artistic language 0through experimenting and liberating your innate creativity. The various exercises, performed in a supportive environment, invite less experienced artists to explore their untapped creativity and more experienced artists to experiment with new ways of creating. All the activities are designed to help you bypass your critical mind with the result being greater confidence in your ability to authentically express yourself.
The sessions cover a range of topics such as landscape, portraiture, collage, and more. Each session includes PPT slides that introduce artists who employ a similar approach to the topic covered in the session. The participants are then guided through a range of dynamic exercises. While the focus is always on process rather than product, the results are often very exciting.
About Susie
Susie is a self-taught artist. She began to sell her works and exhibit when she was in her 50’s. Her art evolved while spending a number of years painting in a beautiful stable repurposed as a studio in Kangaroo Ground in the Yarra Valley. In this quiet location she developed her current practice. Susie now paints from her studio in Glen Iris where she continues to explore, experiment and learn. Her repertoire includes portraiture, landscape, life drawing, and the poetic.
Susie believes that creativity is a birthright that all people can enjoy. She created the above course to help others to tap into this life force and enjoy its gifts.

Thanks, Susie for a wonderful experience in your Exploring Your Inner Artist Course. It was great to challenge my mindset and not be too precious with art making. I loved being able to experiment and have fun with new mediums and techniques, and even new techniques with familiar mediums!!!
I really enjoyed the variety of class topics over the eight weeks and the insightful discussions about other artists; works and general art practice issues. All delivered with clear instruction and practical demonstrations in a very supportive and encouraging way. I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to expand the way they go about making art! Loved every minute! Lynn
I thoroughly enjoyed Susie’s classes. With her project based learning she did a great job in keeping her classes both participative; interactive. By the end of the term I found many new creative skills supported with some great encouragement, tips and direction. Costas
