GRAEME DRENDEL
Drawing the clothed figureworkshop
A weekend workshop over 2 sessions
2 - 5pm Saturday 12 July, 2025
2 - 5pm Sunday 13 July, 2025
Drawing from direct observation of a clothed model in the large Performance Space, participants will learn the value of retaining a sense of the figure beneath the garment.
Explore with Graeme the impact of using light to render fabric over the form as an important part of your subject. This less often explored aspect of drawing the figure will combine with Graeme’s insight into portrayals of ordinary, unique people. See Graeme’s extensive collection of sketchbooks full of uniquely observed subjects; repetition of favourites, studies and experimentation.
Graeme Drendel has held over thirty solo exhibitions since 1990 in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra. He is an Archibald finalist and is represented in many public and private collections throughout Australia.
