The art of still life is not quite as old as the world, but getting there. Its art forms are many and varied—think of Jean Gris, Morandi, Matisse, the Flemish masters, like van Ostade, Flinck, etc. Lewis, an Australian artist with an international following, is well-known for his portraiture but he is also engrossed in the still life form of quiet contemplation where his mastery of technique combined with sensitivity crystallises into jewel-like, sparkling observations. Sharpen your skills and gain new insights in the art still life painting
Tuesday 2 May: 9.00am till 1.00pm; demonstration and talking through the process; setup and practice.
Tuesdays 9 and 16 May, studio practice.
Cost per participant is $150 (HAS members), and $180 for non-members (this automatically confers amembership for the 2017 calendar year).
