Our AGM 2024

Our Annual General Meeting was held at Never Mind Bar, after finding ourselves the victims of a double booking, at 6.00pm on Tuesday 12th November 2024. The new HAS Committee was elected.

HAS had a full and varied year.

A year of growth and dynamic activities for the Hawthorn Artist Society included a range of popular art classes, workshops, and the integration of new instructors, along with events like the July Open House that attracted new members.

Challenges arose regarding behavior at life drawing sessions. A Disciplinary Sub-Committee managed complaints, resulting in disciplinary actions.

Significant achievements included the recognition of members Joe Whyte and Lisa Banks for their artistic accomplishments. The En Plein Air group continued its active monthly gatherings. The financial health of HAS was maintained, with new MYOB software streamlining accounting. Anne Esposito is stepping down after seven years as Treasurer, leaving a legacy of diligent financial stewardship.
